"solution" email they sent you with your 'printers' screen and a
link to the brother page that shows the linux drivers for the printer.
if it where me, i would also write the pres and board of directors of
brother and inform them of same.
if nothing else, you would be showing just what kind of screwed
state of affairs the company it in.;-)
also, when you get other printer working and return the hl-l2340dw
printer, send pres and head of board a copy of your return for credit
receipt. be sure that you have reason for return is that the printer
does not work with drivers supplied from brother site.;-)

Well I don't know that they deserve that. They do provide Linux drivers
for many of their printers, this one is bottom of the line and seems to
be exactly what they specify it to be. And it does work using other
drivers, I might not be able to do two sided printing but then I have
never had that feature and if it was important I probably should buy a
different model, if I return this one I will use it as a credit against
another printer.
