I just defined an ipp printer (a Toshiba e-Studio 3530c) and I can print to it OK from fedora 20, but as soon as I print one thing the system-config-printer icon gets a red circle with a white - in it and the printer status stays as Idle - Waiting for job to complete. basically forever. The printout does come out, and the print queue goes empty. Is this normal? Is it a problem with the printer? Is it a problem with cups?
Tell us more about this "ipp printer" of yours. Does it stand alone on your network? Or does it attach to another computer on your network that must share it?
I had no end of problems using a shared printer, before finally I installed a printer that stood alone on the network. Many times the sharing computer would lose the job.
