Has anyone in Linuxland who is also using w7pro experienced printing
issues, particularly with Brother laser and worked out what caused
the failure.

No, not me. however I have 2 brother printers at home, and my experience
is that they work better if you use the actual brother driver, not
the ones MS distributes with windows. I'd suggest downloading from the
brother web site, as it may be newer than what's on the dvd/cd that came
with the printer.

He deleted the printer driver and re installed using the original cd but
problem remains. I think its a windows update problem. He says that
windows has been updating itself very often, which seems suspicious.
