yes, i am now aware.

i found that i should be able to install "photorec" with "builtbackwards"
to recover system, but i need to get another ata drive to back the 3 hd
drives before making attempt.

being retired and on a limited budget, it may not be until next month
when i can do so.

hopefully all will go well and i can report on what to do for recovering
from such disasters.
