I had this problem as well. It was in bugzilla, but I guess I described
it differently.
I did find that BZ but it looked like you were doing something a little custom with the cups configuration. I'm using everything totally stock. I tried installed nss-mdns on my wife's F18 laptop, I assume it's the client that needs this, not the server?
I'll try cups-filters next but it just seems wrong I should need this for a basic home setup (flat network).
