perhaps OT: missing fonts on xdvi (using F19)

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi,

I am sorry but this question may well be OT. I am trying to use xdvi on
a fully updated F19 system and get the following:

%xdvi file.dvi
xdvi-xaw: Warning: cannot find Type 1 font file hfbrsy10.pfb (will try
PK version instead).
xdvi-xaw: Warning: cannot find Type 1 font file hfbrsy8.pfb (will try
PK version instead).

The problem becomes more acute when I try to convert it to a pdf or a
postscript file. I get the following:

%dvipdf file.dvi
dvips: ! Couldn't find font file hfbrmi8.pfb

%dvips file.dvi
This is dvips(k) 5.993 Copyright 2013 Radical Eye Software
(www.radicaleye.com) ' TeX output 2013.09.15:1128' ->file.ps
</usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/dvips/base/tex.pro>
</usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/fonts/enc/dvips/cm-super/cm-super-t1.enc>
</usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/dvips/base/texps.pro>
</usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/dvips/base/special.pro>
</usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/dvips/base/color.pro>.
dvips: ! Couldn't find font file hfbrmi8.pfb

How may I get around this? I do not have control over the fonts being
used (I am using journal-provided .cls and .sty files), however I am
also pretty certain that the fonts being substituted is also not a
problem. But at this point, I can not obtain a pdf (or ps) file which
is what I need.

Any suggestions?

Many thanks,
Ranjan
