I have tried them in the past, and they did seem like a good idea. However, I never managed any comfortable ways to: Select several objects. With a mouse, you'd click and drag a box around. You do that using finger button pressing and wrist movement to define the box. With a trackball, you have to do a contortionist dance with all your fingers. Likewise with dragging something (e.g. move an file from one place to another, reposition an object within a page, etc.). Drawing is a damn near impossibility, such as trying to draw a basic thing in GIMP, or fiddle with a pre-existing image. Trackpads are even worse. Evil things, they are. -- [tim@localhost ~]$ uname -rsvp Linux 3.9.10-100.fc17.x86_64 #1 SMP Sun Jul 14 01:31:27 UTC 2013 x86_64 All mail to my mailbox is automatically deleted, there is no point trying to privately email me, I will only read messages posted to the public lists.
