what may help is when the system has finish booting either to a command prompt or to a GUI is to run grub2-mkconfig to generate a new grub.cfg file with the new configuration settings or to manually edit the grub.cfg to reflect the new settings, however manually editing grub.cfg, the new entries may be overwritten
