I can't answer the questions in the next paragraph because the box is at my friend's and not in condition to boot at all. However, knowing that the worst-case scenario is that I need to use a CLI to remove all of the nVidia stuff and reboot pretty much answers my question. So far, all I've gotten from fedoraforum is somebody telling me how to run using nouveau because he can't be bothered to read (or believe) my first post in the thread where I make it quite clear, TYVM, that the new mobo won't have an nVidia card.
