When every customer could have a different version of a needed library, or the same version with different configure options; plus incompatible changes in audio or video drivers. Apple is essentially single-platform and Microsoft at least tries to keep things backward-compatible. The Linux kernel devs seem, at least to the uninitiated, to have some kind of animosity to the very idea of ABI compatibility. Witness VMWare basically recompiling itself every time the user updates his kernel. No game developer wants that kind of headache. -- users mailing list users@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe or change subscription options: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/users Guidelines: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines Have a question?
