hdmi and sound to a tv on F16

Everyone,

I have an HP Pavilion g7-1117cl Notebook PC with F16-x64 as the os. I
have finally had the time to debug the TV interface with an hdmi
connection. I had F15 on this same unit, and was able to have both
sound and video via the hdmi interface. The F16 install was not an
upgrade, but rather a new install.

I had difficulty synchronizing the screen resolution, but solved that
problem with the installation of :

Installed: akmod-catalyst-12.4-4.fc16.x86_64
Installed: xorg-x11-drv-catalyst-libs-12.4-1.fc16.x86_64
Installed: xorg-x11-drv-catalyst-12.4-1.fc16.x86_64

I am still unable to get the sound activated through the hdmi
interface.

Any help you can give me would be appreciated. I am loosing a love war
with my wife who plugged the hdmi cable into her MS Windows 7 machine
and it worked immediately.
