Things work properly except for the first login screen after a boot. jon Just so we are all using the same terms, the programs that brings up the login screen is the Display Manager. What you get after you log in is the desktop environment or window manager, depending on what you run. KDE and Gnome are examples of a desktop environment. I do not know about KDE, but you can run Gnome on top of a couple of different window managers.
