I've upgraded my laptop, but not my desktop as yet.  There are, 
actually, some improvements.  One problem with 4.6 is that the only menu 
editor must be run as root, and affects all users.  In 4.8 you can use 
alacart, which means that each user can customize their own menu.  For

It's kept one feature from old-school window managers that I liked years 
ago and thought I'd lost.  The right-click context menu for the desktop 
includes your complete main menu.  Not a big thing, I'll grant, but it's 
one that quickly becomes a habit that you don't want to do without.
