I can't find this on the Wikipedia Radeon Chipset Comparison page.
Assuming its either a 3670 or a 3680, it would have an RV635 chipset
which is supported by the radeon driver.

Yeup, you're using the RADEON driver.  That's good.

OK, you have it specified down to a tee.  B^)

And that shows that the 3D support is up and running.

Nope. The radeon driver man page states that it supports PCI, AGP, and
PCIE chipsets and your RV635 is listed.

And the other output seems to indicate its working.

Let's concentrate on mplayer.  Does it work any better if you specify
"-vo xv" or "-vo xvidix"?

I have an M56P chipset (Mobility Radeon X1600) and I have no trouble
playing .mpg files with -vo xv.  Your chipset is supposed to be better
than mine (mine isn't HD).

What type of file are you trying to play?
