I use different clients for news and email and was planning to reply
through Gmane. Since my replies, I suppose will be sent to this group, how
come my replies won't get to your email client? Why would you have to pick
them up at Gmane?

I subscribed yesterday to Gmane. I just went to their news web interface
and sent a message in test.

May I suggest that you might be happier using one reader for news/mail related to lists, even though you might want to use something else for other news, particularly binaries? I use the seamonkey suite for virtually everything, and the new 2.0beta for everything including RSS monitoring. It has really sped up my reading, and I mark threads I want to follow so when time is short I can just read "watched threads with new posts" to catch up.

I have a script to get seamonkey2.0beta working on FC11, works fine on previous releases.
