Come to think of it, I had troubles with my last 2 kernel updates
failing. Had to use a combination of CLI and Yum Extender to fix it.
Here's how I did it:

1) Boot to previous kernel version

2) Use Yum Extender to specifically remove newest kernel (including
kernel-devel, kernel-headers, and kernel-firmware)

3) Exit Yum Extender and launch CLI, and switch user to root

4) As root, run "package-cleanup --cleandupes" to fix issues with failed
updates

5) Re-launch Yum Extender, and install updated kernel packages, which
pulls the current kmod-nvidia packages alone with them for dependency
resolution

6) Reboot on new kernel

At least that seems to have worked for me...

Cheers,

Chris
