Hello,
I just tried to install the syslog-ng as the following cmd :
[root@edsvr rpm]# rpm -ihv --nodeps syslog-ng*.rpm
Preparing... ###########################################
[100%]
file /etc/logrotate.d/syslog from install of
syslog-ng-2.0.8-1.fc9.i386 conflicts with file from package
rsyslog-3.14.1-2.fc9.i386
[root@edsvr rpm]#
So, how can I do it ?
Thanks !
Edward.

Yeah..you can`t delete rsyslog because its needed by a
lot of packages..I`ve installed it via rpm with --nodeps argument.
# chkconfig --level 12345 rsyslog off
# chkconfig --level 12345 syslog-ng on

Hello to you,
During the installation ( Text mode ), there is no included ( packages of
syslog-ng and sysstat ) with the system...
So, must it be GUI ( Graphic mode ) ?
The CD/DVD images have limited capacity. Many packages are not
included. You need to use yum or another pacakge manager to install
them from the "Everything" repository.
Thanks !
Edward.
