I don't think it has a transformer either - it is one of those
low power scanners that runs off USB power, but I may take it
apart anyway just to poke around since I can't bust it any
more than it already is :-). Don't seem to be any screws holding
it together either, just a snap together plastic frame (or maybe
snap into pieces depending on what happens when I pry on
it hard enough)
