As I wrote before, the two ways to view the print queue are:

A. Click on the printer icon in the notification area (this appears when
you print a job -- at least, it does in a default install).

B. Enable the 'Manage Print Jobs' menu entry using
System->Preferences->Look and Feel->Main Menu: the menu item to enable
is Applications->System Tools->Manage Print Jobs

You can't do either of these things from the
System->Administration->Printing tool, which it seems is where you're
looking for it.

A default installation of Fedora 8 will display a printer icon in the
