I know the kernels in the RH clustering product seem to require the
Infiniband modules.  (Don't know why...)  But the kernel I built from
the SRPM didn't require anything unusual that I recall.

What exactly are you doing to build your kernel?  kernel-devel doesn't
contain kernel source.  That's only in the kernel SRPM.

See my instructions in a previous post.  I can think of some ways to
work around the config issue if you really want to whack modules (but
the only burden of modules is that they get compiled.  They don't get
loaded if you don't load them.
