NFS share causes kded to crash on logout - fix found, how to apply?

Hi All,

I'm experiencing the same problem as Mike Cohler posted about nearly a month ago, namely kded crashes on logout under Fedora 7 and 8 after kdebase was update last November.  This problem has become so annoying that I did some digging around on the web and actually found the cause and a patch to fix it:

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=336627

I tried to apply the fix and rebuild kdebase from source rpms myself.  However, when I go to build the package after applying the patch, I get the following error message (which is not related to the patch as far as I can tell) and I've been unable to find any reference to the -redhat-m-gnu flag on the web:

+ ./configure --build=x86_64-redhat-linux-gnu --host=x86_64-redhat-linux-gnu --target=uname -redhat-m-gnu --program-prefix= --prefix=/usr --exec-prefix=/usr --bindir=/usr/bin --sbindir=/usr/sbin --sysconfdir=/etc --datadir=/usr/share --includedir=/usr/include --libdir=/usr/lib64 --libexecdir=/usr/libexec --localstatedir=/var --sharedstatedir=/usr/com --mandir=/usr/share/man --infodir=/usr/share/info --enable-new-ldflags --disable-dependency-tracking --with-xdmdir=/etc/X11/xdm --with-pam=yes --with-kdm-pam=kdm --with-kcp-pam=kcheckpass --with-kss-pam=kscreensaver --with-libraw1394 --with-openexr --with-samba --with-xinerama --with-xscreensaver --without-shadow --disable-shadow --disable-rpath --sysconfdir=/etc --disable-greet-lib --enable-final --disable-debug --disable-warnings --includedir=/usr/include/kde --with-hal
configure: error: unrecognized option: -redhat-m-gnu
Try `./configure --help' for more information.
error: Bad exit status from /var/tmp/rpm-tmp.23199 (%build)

I find it kinda aggravating that the patch for this has been available for more than a month now and that before the November update, everything was working fine with kde, at least for me.  I'd greatly appreciate any help on resolving the -redhat-m-gnu flag error or if someone would be kind enough to make a patched rpm version available (preferably for Fedora 7).  There is a newer kdebase in the testing directory of the Fedora repos, but surprisingly, it doesn't include the patch above!

Thanks in advance, Tim Leger
