That's still an extraordinary long time, I'd expect a few seconds at

most. That sounds like nothing provides an answer for the current
addresses (DNS nor the hosts file).
Primary and secondary DNS are set in Network Configuration and whois
says they belong to my ISP.
Will they reverse-resolve the IP address of your interface(s)? What
does "nslookup your_IP_address" return?
