Well, then I absolutely don't get it.
You could try renaming your ~/.mozilla directory to something else, then run
Firefox, then exit it and mkdir ~/.mozilla/plugins and put the symbolic link
to libjavaplugin_oji.so there and then see what happens. That should be
more-or-less equivalent to a fresh install of Firefox.
That's about the only thing I can think of at the moment.
I was thinking the same thing. yum will eventually upgrade to 2.0, and
I'll see what happens.
