You can, with the suffix G and M, respectively, but only on recent
resize2fs versions.

I.e., resize2fs /dev/device 8G is the same as
  resize2fs /dev/device 8192M is the same as
  resize2fs /dev/device 2097152 (assuming 4096 blocks).
