I have a SanDisk e250 that is mounted by HAL without difficulty. I assume that HAL is running; if not, perhaps that is the problem. (I'm also running Gnome, but I suspect that that's irrelevant.) Mount shows this: /dev/sdb1 on /media/Sansa e250 type vfat (rw,noexec,nosuid,nodev,shortname=winnt,uid=501) This might be useful as well: http://www.howtoforge.com/sandisk_mp3_player_linux I also added the following stanza to /usr/share/hal/fdi/information/10freedesktop/10-usb-music-players.fdi <!-- Sandisk Corp. Sansa e250 (maybe others as well) --> <match key="@storage.physical_device:usb.product_id" int="0x7421"> <append key="info.capabilities" type="strlist">portable_audio_player</append> <merge key="info.category" type="string">portable_audio_player</merge> <merge key="portable_audio_player.type" type="string">generic</merge> <merge key="portable_audio_player.access_method" type="string">storage</merge> <merge key="portable_audio_player.storage_device" type="copy_property">info.udi</merge> <append key="portable_audio_player.output_formats" type="strlist">audio/mpeg</append> <append key="portable_audio_player.output_formats" type="strlist">audio/x-ms-wma</append> <append key="portable_audio_player.input_formats" type="strlist">audio/mpeg</append> <append key="portable_audio_player.input_formats" type="strlist">audio/x-ms-wma</append> </match> </match> -- fedora-list mailing list fedora-list@xxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe: https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-list
