Actually, what it means is what it says; It allows multiple users to share a single IP. But what it didn't say, is that you have to build your own network behind it to allow the sharing. Lots or most modems say the same thing, but again you have to build your own network. Heck, even look at the back of the modem, it only has ONE ethernet cable. You can't share with just one. The OP will need to buy/build a router and setup his own network/firewall if he wants to allow more than one computer.
With just a CNet switch I can effectively share my Internet connection with other computer, and I did not need to do anything else regarding configuration but connect the cables.
