Hi,
In a new installation of F7, a process named prelink is hogging up CPU time.
It almost always uses more than 70% of CPU time, sometimes getting close to
100%.
This did not happen in FC6 in the same machine. What may be causing that?
This is a well-known phenomenon. Perhaps you are using your machine
at the time prelink runs, whereas before you did not. IMO, prelink
performs a non useful task, anyway. Don't kill it in midstride,
however. You should be able to find it in cron and make it stop
running.
# ls -l /etc/cron.daily/prelink
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1603 May 5 2004 /etc/cron.daily/prelink

You have found the bank of Larn.
I can explain it for you, but I can't understand it for you.
I speak only for myself, and I am unanimous in that!
