Run (as root) $ sensors-detect [8], let it try to find you i2c chipset and configure it - it should give you CPU/Chipset temperature/fan speed/voltage/etc. More-ever, configure smartd [8] to monitor the hard disk health and use smartctl [8] to check the current status.
