I'm running my mail server on FC5. I'm using procmail to filter my kids email and I know I had it working at one time. But now when someone (that is allowed to send them a message) email them they get a DSN back that says: ----- The following addresses had permanent fatal errors ----- "|procmail" (reason: Service unavailable) (expanded from: <xxxxx@xxxxxxxxxx>) ----- Transcript of session follows ----- smrsh: "procmail" not available for sendmail programs (stat failed) 554 5.0.0 Service unavailable I can see in the maillog: Nov 20 07:39:36 porky2 smrsh: uid 504: attempt to use "procmail" (stat failed) Nov 20 07:39:36 porky2 sendmail[13062]: kAKCdKYU013045: to="|procmail", ctladdr=<xxxxx@xxxxxxxxxx> (504/504), delay=00:00:16, xdelay=00:00:01, mailer=prog, pri=120306, dsn=5.0.0, stat=Service unavailable Nov 20 07:39:36 porky2 sendmail[13062]: kAKCdKYU013045: kAKCdZIp013062: DSN: Service unavailable I'm googling now, but anyone know what the problem is? /usr/bin/procmail is there and I can run it as the user. /etc/smrsh directory is empty.
