Thunderbird just wouldn't connect to the mail servers. Pressing the "Get
Mail" button did absolutely nothing.
had a similar problem once after a thunderbird upgrade.
solution: Go to your profile folder and delete all .msf files (summary
files). (or, delete just those whose mailbox you are having a problem
getting mail) and restart thunderbird.
I think I'll reinstall 1.5.0.8 and try again.
FWIW, 1.5.0.8 is running fine here. FC6 clean install.
