FC6 AIGLX nvidia compiz x86_64 -- not quite

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

First off, the livna drivers are missing GL_EXT_compiled_vertex_array which breaks a few things, including cedega. Can't have that! I need my City of Heroes/Villains! :)

Also with the livna drivers a weird anomoly:
RandR loads and initializes but xdpyinfo does not show it.

So head on over to the Nvidia Forums, read the announcement (because the main driver download page has not been updated yet) and download the driver.

Install it manually, but hey, don't forget to yum install xorg-x11-server-sdk.x86_64 first! Man that one took me an hour to figure out!

Ok, got it built and got it installed. City of Heroes/Villains works again, whew!

Try desktop effects:

Still no RAND extension!

What the ... ??

-> grep -i randr /var/log/Xorg.0.log
(==) RandR enabled
(II) Initializing built-in extension RANDR

-> grep -i aiglx /var/log/Xorg.0.log

nadda (:

-> xdpyinfo | grep -i randr

nadda :(

Hmmm...

This system was a FC5 UPGRADE from media rather than fresh install.
AMD64 X2 4200
2GB RAM
GForce 7600GT
ASUS A8N-SLI MB

Any ideas?
