Is your network statically addressed, or dynamic (using DHCP)?

For static, simply add a line:
GATEWAY=ip.add.re.ss
in /etc/sysconfig/network

For dynamic, it'll be interesting to see what your DHCP client thinks it's getting from the setver; see what the last "lease" entry in /var/lib/dhclient/dhclient-eth0.leases is. There should be an "option routers" entry with your gateway.
