I don't think I have the right hardware for the software, here was my
attempt (yes, running as root, slap my wrist):

[root@arrakis install-SkypeMate.zip_FILES]#
[root@arrakis install-SkypeMate.zip_FILES]# pwd
/home/thufir/Desktop/install-SkypeMate.zip_FILES
[root@arrakis install-SkypeMate.zip_FILES]# ll

I downloaded the software from <http://www.yealink.com/en/skypedown.asp>
but am using the phone
<http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/proddetail.asp?logon=&langid=EN&sku_id=0926INGFS10071638&catid=23092>
or <http://www.skypephoneusb.com/areadownload.html>, I'm not sure who
"makes" the phone. In any event, there doesn't seem to be any linux
drivers for it. The phone, however, does work as advertised for windows :)

I might buy the phone at <http://support.a-link.com/phonemate/IPU1.htm>,
which works with skypemate. I'm leaning more towards skype, if only
because there's free calling till 1 Jan 2007, which changes the economics
slightly.
