Heh. After a travail with Red Hat 3 and X during installation, I've done text mode installs ever since. ;)

The install actually goes fine and everything ends up where it should be. I've verified that all the files are properly installed. I can mount the file systems on the ramfs install creates, so it appears everything is OK. It's just that grub never loads if I try to boot from the drive itself.


just a wild guess, where did you install grub? Could you post your
grub.conf and also the output of grub-install --recheck /dev/???
whatever your device is?
