Maybe it's because I did something so out of character that it made me look again, more carefully. The Profile checkbox was not checked. I checked it and checked settings, then selected Activate - and it did. Presumably it had been checked last night, but somehow unchecked today? I don't know. I do know that it's a design fault if it allows you to apparently complete and save a configuration file which, apparently, doesn't exist when you've done it. Still, the good news is that yum update is at last reading in the repo info. Anne
