Without the console=ttyS0,9600, the system boots fine, but no getty on the console. > sunblade systems with qlogic hba's for primary storage - Make sure that you > do a graphical install (vnc or local X) or kickstart and include "hardware > support" this is so that you have the firmware for your primary storage This was already selected when I installed on the SB1000 here. > install blowing up at partitioning - parted doesnt seem to like old parted > disk labels. in rescue mode "dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/sdX bs=512 count=2" > where X == the valuse of each disk Quick note: with a serial console and vnc install mode, you can get a serial console shell prompt by pressing enter when the console tells you you can do so. Do your dd's there, then continue with the install in the vnc session. Takes less time (especially if boot time is very long, like on an E6500 with 19GB of RAM....which is my next victim...in a few days, at least..that beast takes around 15 minutes to boot up). For now enjoying F12 on an SB1000, albeit as a headless server, not as a workstation. -- Lamar Owen Chief Information Officer Pisgah Astronomical Research Institute 1 PARI Drive Rosman, NC 28772 http://www.pari.edu _______________________________________________ sparc mailing list sparc@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/sparc
