This isn't that hard to do if we think it would be useful. And thinking about it, I'm pretty sure it would be -- a lot of the cases that people disable the internal dep generator are to be able to do something like this. And disabling the internal dep generator has other downsides like not ensuring files are marked with the proper file color. The big question is do we just define paths not to be searched or a blacklist of things not to include or the like.
