They will get the devel/ branch for free, which directs builds to dist-f8.  
The maintainer would have to request branches for existing releases as 
always, FC-6, F-7, EPEL?.  The F-7 build will go toward the 
dist-fc7-updates-candidate tag, and the package would have to be issued as an 
update to Fedora 7.  Surprise, new package announcements, what an awesome 
thing!

See above.  They go out as an update to Fedora 7 and thus get a nice 
announcement and such.
