Yes and no,
We were at the doctors for a regular checkup and there was a book with
possible childrens names there, that is where the name Eowyn comes from,
and according to that same book (and other sources) the name Eowyn
indeed comes from Tolkien.

(Our Éowyn arrived almost 3 years ago now. The Lord of the Rings
trilogy is my wife's favorite books and gets re-read every year or two)
