Isn't subscription to fedora-maintainers@xxxxxxxxxx even required for
contributors? So maybe the script could go ahead and subscribe instead
of invite to shorten the procedure?

Also if there are no security issues between the accounts managing
machine and the mailing list server, maybe an

echo mail@xxxxxxxxxxxxx | ssh listserver ~mailman/bin/add_members -r - fedora-maintainers@xxxxxxxxxx 

is already enough?
