[rpmlint] obsolete-not-provided and versioned obsoletes

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi,

rpmlint currently marks obsoletes without provides as errors in its output. However some obsoletes are really just a convenience for upgrades, etc. For example scim obsoletes some old iiimf packages but it surely does not provide iiimf.

The scim package has versioned obsoletes, and I do not think that it should provide the obsoleted iiimf packages.

Should rpmlint be updated to only warn about versioned obsoletes without provides?

Jens
