The current situation is a severe behavioral regression, imposing a
heavy drawback to the foundations FE is based on.

It renders a fundamental aspect of sponsorship inapplicable.

The problem is the present - You have introduced a regression.

In most other projects, you'd hear a "revert this change"/"Back to the
drawing board" or "fix your bugs".
