But perhaps I'm missing something. The thing about distributed SCM is that they don't force you to work in a distributed mode - you can still use a workflow that's pretty much same as in a centralized model, but if you want to take advantage of the distributedness it is there for you. Personally the two aspects I find most compelling are complete access to repository when offline (great for working on laptops remotely), and distributed backups. So compelling I used distributed SCM for all my projects even if I'm the only one working on it. Keith Packard has an interesting article about this in a little more depth http://keithp.com/blog/Repository_Formats_Matter.html Regards, Dan. -- |=- Red Hat, Engineering, Emerging Technologies, Boston. +1 978 392 2496 -=| |=- Perl modules: http://search.cpan.org/~danberr/ -=| |=- Projects: http://freshmeat.net/~danielpb/ -=| |=- GnuPG: 7D3B9505 F3C9 553F A1DA 4AC2 5648 23C1 B3DF F742 7D3B 9505 -=| -- Fedora-maintainers mailing list Fedora-maintainers@xxxxxxxxxx https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-maintainers -- Fedora-maintainers-readonly mailing list Fedora-maintainers-readonly@xxxxxxxxxx https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/fedora-maintainers-readonly
