First I had problems with smart and yum but then I downloaded the cups rpm and tried to install it by hand and that still failed: % rpm --install cups-1.1.14-15.4.4.legacy.i386.rpm error: Failed dependencies: cups-libs = 1.1.14 is needed by cups-1.1.14-15.4.4.legacy.i386
Is this a problem with the cups packages or with the version of rpm I am using or is it something else still ?
The error message is quite clear... you need to *also* install/upgrade the cups-libs rpm.
Now, smart/yum *should* have done that for you automatically. Perhaps you could post what errors smart/yum gave?
