This was a non-event and most likely this would be the same even for much earlier RH installations provided you are not cramped on a disk space. An /etc/X11/X link is _not_ switched automatically to Xorg binary, so boot into a level 3 and do that yourself, and mostly /etc/ tree should be cleaned from various *.rpmsave and *.rpmnew which may require some thought from time to time. A removal of obsolete/unwanted packages may be also a good idea. Do 'rpm -qa --last' and walk through a resulting list by date. That is about it.
