I have to install an Intel PRO/1000 interface board into a Dell PowerEdge server running RHAT 8.0 (kernel 2.4.18). Visiting the Intel site provides source for a driver which Intel claims will build correctly on kernels up through 2.4.20. Fair enough. Various vendor sites provide testimonials that attest to success with the card...but nothing specific otherwise by Googling. Can anyone offer advice on what to look for/look out for when installing the card and driver for this board? Thanks for the help.
