My apologies again. I spent 3 days googling and didnt see this obvious
item.. went to it, read and figured out that the main problems are:

1) When compiling the module limit the SCB to 32 versus 256
2) The hardware is sensitive to cabling, backplanes, and terminators.
This seems to have been the root of the problem.
