Hi

I am using Fedora 20 and have no problem with my wifi, but some my friend said some of their hard wares do not work. It depends on your laptop. I installed Linux (Ubuntu and Fedora) 22 times and finally I found that all my hard wares work in Fedora 20 correctly. My laptop is Lenovo G510.
Try to search by your wifi model, may you find some useful answers.

Hi Tom,
The version of Fedora is 20.
I just had installed Fedora (I did not want windows), but after much testing also decided to install windows and having the two operating systems if I wifi works properly in Fedora.
It is not possible to work without windows?
Thank you very much,
regards

Subject: Problem wifi-Disabled Hardware Good morning,
I have a problem with my wireless, I have a Toshiba U840-10u.
When I install Fedora directly activate the indicator light that the connection is enabled.
After installing it is impossible to turn the wifi says "Hardware disabled", my network card is Intel Centrino Wireless N 2230.To enable and disable wifi use the FN + F12 key, but does not work (all other function keys work properly). In windows if you press two times this key activates the wifi, three times activates bluetooth and four times off everything, both bluetooth and wifi.I have read that a user disabled the bluetooth from the BIOS and then it worked, but I don't have the option to disable bluetooth in my BIOS. When I run: rfkill list0: hci0: Bluetooth Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: no 1: phy0: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: yes Run “rfkill unblock 1” but does nothing:1: phy0: Wireless LAN Soft blocked: no Hard blocked: yes I have reinstalled the firmware
yum install linux-firmware yum reinstal linux-firmware After this release the order to
sudo modprobe-r iwlwifi
I appreciated the following error:
modprobe: FATAL: Module iwlwifi is in use.
run:
sudo ifconfig down wlp2s0
And again:
sudo modprobe-r iwlwifi
But was still dating the same message:
modprobe: FATAL: Module iwlwifi is in use.
I launched:
sudo ifconfig wlp2s0 up
and gave me the following error:
SIOCSIFFLAGS: Operation not possible to be disabled radiofrequency I do not know how to fix it, I leave the configuration information below. iwconfig wlp2s0 IEEE 802.11bgn ESSID:off/any Mode:Managed Access Point: Not-Associated Tx-Power=off Retry long limit:7 RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off Encryption key:off Power Management:off p8p1 no wireless extensions. lo no wireless extensions. ifconfig lo: flags=73<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING> mtu 65536 inet 127.0.0.1 netmask 255.0.0.0 inet6 ::1 prefixlen 128 scopeid 0x10<host> loop txqueuelen 0 (Local Loopback) RX packets 4 bytes 340 (340.0 B) RX errors 0 dropped 0 overruns 0 frame 0 TX packets 4 bytes 340 (340.0 B) TX errors 0 dropped 0 overruns 0 carrier 0 collisions 0 p8p1: flags=4163<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 inet 192.168.1.34 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 0.0.0.0 inet6 fe80::67d:7bff:fef9:e584 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x20<link> ether 04:7d:7b:f9:e5:84 txqueuelen 1000 (Ethernet) RX packets 7855 bytes 6390324 (6.0 MiB) RX errors 0 dropped 0 overruns 0 frame 0 TX packets 7514 bytes 1536604 (1.4 MiB) TX errors 0 dropped 0 overruns 0 carrier 1 collisions 0 lsmod|grep rfkill rfkill 21694 5 cfg80211,bluetooth lspci -vnn 00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: Intel Corporation 3rd Gen Core processor DRAM Controller [8086:0154] (rev 09) Subsystem: Toshiba America Info Systems Device [1179:fba1] Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0 Capabilities: [e0] Vendor Specific Information: Len=0c <?> 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: Intel Corporation 3rd Gen Core processor Graphics Controller [8086:0166] (rev 09) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Toshiba America Info Systems Device [1179:fba1] Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 44 Memory at c0000000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=4M] Memory at b0000000 (64-bit, prefetchable) [size=256M] I/O ports at 3000 [size=64] Expansion ROM at <unassigned> [disabled] Capabilities: [90] MSI: Enable+ Count=1/1 Maskable- 64bit- Capabilities: [d0] Power Management version 2 Capabilities: [a4] PCI Advanced Features Ke
