From: Justin M. Forbes on gitlab.com https://gitlab.com/cki-project/kernel-ark/-/merge_requests/2011#note_1098747753 I do understand the problem that you are trying to solve, and I also understand that the generated config files do build the kernels in the same way. The problem is in how the resulting sort works. Particularly in Fedora, people do look at the config files in dist-git, and having them sorted by the name of the config option is both logical and easy to understand. The sorting is not actually required for the build, it is only there to make it easily readable. _______________________________________________ kernel mailing list -- kernel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send an email to kernel-leave@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Fedora Code of Conduct: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/project/code-of-conduct/ List Guidelines: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines List Archives: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/kernel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Do not reply to spam, report it: https://pagure.io/fedora-infrastructure/new_issue
