From: Prarit Bhargava on gitlab.com https://gitlab.com/cki-project/kernel-ark/-/merge_requests/1610#note_838924748 Yep, they probably should be dropped from ARK for the time-being. Here's the problem: When we mark something as, for example, 'deprecated' we're referring to a specific release. That code may or may not be stable in that release, and there could be a number of reasons why we've made that decision *for that release*. That decision, may or may not affect future releases (ie RHEL10). In some cases, we know that the decision has affected RHEL10 and in those cases we've disabled the driver in the CONFIG which means that the driver code is, well, dead code. As you noticed, we're in the process of revamping this code and the messaging around deprecated and unmaintained keywords. This code should not be in ARK atm. _______________________________________________ kernel mailing list -- kernel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe send an email to kernel-leave@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Fedora Code of Conduct: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/project/code-of-conduct/ List Guidelines: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines List Archives: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/archives/list/kernel@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Do not reply to spam on the list, report it: https://pagure.io/fedora-infrastructure
